All Butte County 4-H exhibition events require our 4-H family and friends to volunteer to evaluate. You do not need to be a registered volunteer in order to evaluate, and Senior 4-H Members (14-18 years old), who have given a passing presentation at Foods Fiesta before, and hold a Gold Star ranking are permitted to evaluate.
If you are able to help evaluate and sample some delicious food, please complete the brief registration below:
Prepare for the Event
Below are the categories for the event to give a very small idea of what Foods Fiesta entails:
Appetizer/Snack - Is a small dish served before a meal. Typically smaller than a main dish, it is often designed to be eaten by hand, or with minimal use of cutlery.
Salad/Side - Is a dish consisting of a mixture of small pieces of food, usually vegetables. However, different varieties of salad may contain virtually any type of ready-to-eat food. A salad can be composed, (with the ingredients specifically arranged), or tossed (with the ingredients placed in a bowl and mixed).
Main Dish - Is the primary dish of a meal, around which the meal is built. It is usually meat or fish, or something like a casserole with meat or fish in it.
Dessert - Is a dish that consists of variations of flavors, textures, and appearances. Desserts are a usually sweeter course that concludes a meal. Dessert ranges from fruits or dried nuts to multi-ingredient cakes and pies.
If you have any questions please call the 4-H office at 538-7201.
