Go Glow Grow

Girl Hopscotch
Go Glow Grow is a curriculum found within the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-Ed), that teaches preschoolers not only how to eat healthy but why we should eat healthy. Children learn the effect food groups have on the body and engage in playful and interactive lessons that look at nutrition, hand-washing and routine exercise and their role in building strong and healthy bodies.  Physical activities are incorporated and enhanced to develop a connection between eating healthy foods and exercise.

Children learn through very simple language that foods provide a purpose for our bodies. Those blueberries don't just taste good, they make our eyes sparkle!

  • Breads, Rice, pasta and other grains are Go foods. They help us to run, jump and play all day. These are our fats and carbohydrates.
  • Fruits and vegetables are Glow foods. They help our hair shine and our eyes sparkle. These are our sources of vitamins and minerals. They help prevent disease.
  • Dairy, beans, meat and meat alternatives are Grow foods. They help us to grow big and strong! These are our sources of protein-rich foods that help in building muscle.
